With your example I think the authors Perdo score "only" needs to be 34 and
then he lowers the level one below half to 16.
I suspect the author is meant to be someone like a Bonisagus magus with the
Good Teacher virtue (as you suggest) and a positive Comm score. Probably Comm
3, Language 5, so that he can write the Level 16 Summa in 2 seasons. That
implies an Art score of 38 (base quality = 3 + 3 + 6 = 12 + 3 levels below
half). Though the level 19, quality 12 summa he could also write would be
rather appreciated.
Does the Puissant Art virtue count towards writing skill?
The book (art, level & quality) is from the free download Semita Errabunda
Covenant extract from the Atlas Games website. There are three such books in
its library (Perdo, Corpus, Imaginem) all with that level & quality so I
assume they are correct.
Another question: does the book quality limit in the covenants chapter apply
when writing your own books?
