and encumberance/burden/load

Two questions here:
1. I am reading through the 5th edition story "Calebais -
the broken adventure" but I am a bit uncertain about all
ghosts in them.
As I understand it, they wont be affected by normal spells
(or attacks) and their normal spells (and attacks) wont
affect the living. Some of them has the special ability to
let their spells affect the living though, which could make
them troublesome if they become aggressive.
So, assuming that my players get themselves into a position
where they need to fight; is there any way they can affect
these ghosts with their normal (learned) spells, or do they
need to rely on spontaneous magic only (mentem spells like
"lay to rest the haunting spirit" aside, since none of my
players has these spells)
Could I for example take an ignem spell, like arc of fiery
ribbons, and do it as a spontaneous spell but with mentem as
prerequisite and thus make it affect a ghost?
The second question regards uncumberance. Comparing some of
the characters in the rule book (and in Calebais) as well as
the chars downloadable from Atlas games I cant get the
encumberance to match.
For example; if a character has 9 in load, this should give
4 in burden (1 in load = 1 in burden, 3 in load = 2 in
burden, 6 in load = 3 in burden, 10 in load = 4 in burden)
which with strength 2 should give an encumberance of 2,
right? Take the grog templates (on page 21) as example. The
berserker has a full metal scale armor (soak 7, load 7) and
a pole axe (load 2). This gives load 9, which I take as
burden 4, which with his strength (+3) gives an encumberance
of 1 (4) but the rule book lists him as encumberance 0 (3).
So, what am I doing wrong?
Best regards,
/Mattias
