>No, it is not. It says in the book you can cast a normal spell and a
>fast cast spell in the same round.
To me that sentence does not imply that I cannot cast a fast cast spell
(or several) after I cast a formulaic spell.
It only says I can cast a FC(A) AND a formulaic(B) spell. Nothing to
indicate that I must do A then B, just A AND B, which as far as logic is
concerned might just as well be B and A.
Se what I mean?
>It's the difficulty of casting a spell before that initiative in a
round.

>Specifically, first, you always roll that when fast casting. Every time
>you fast cast. Initiative is rolled only once. Second, an initiative
>roll can't fail. It just indicates the order in which people act. That
>roll can fail, indicating you _can't_ fast cast any more spells
>(including the one you were trying) that round. Third, it says
>explicitly it is not an initiative. That means it is not an initiative
>for purposes of whatever rules deal with initiative, one would assume.
Well, after I eplained more or less exaxtly that, two posts previous to
yours, I think he must have gotten it by now.
>Personally, I think Fast Caster needs updating, which is why I brought
>up the matter. On the other hand, maybe fast caster just applies for
>normal spell casting. That's what the rules indicate, though do not
make
>explicit.
You might make a case that the virtue Fast Caster has been given a name
that could cause a bit of confusion, but other than that I see no reason
to update it, it was never meant to modify Fast Casting, that's way to
good allready! Especially as a mastery ability.
