I can see both sides of that.  If some diseases are caused by imbalances of
humors, with too much of one humor, Perdo (or bloodletting) ought to be
able to cure them ... except that maybe imbalance-diseases are really
caused by too *little* of one humor, in which case neither Perdo nor
bloodletting will help.  (Whittling off the other three humors will
probably cure the specific problem but cause a worse one.)

Perdo-ing cancer isn't exactly healing. It just removes the stuff that's
making the patient get sicker and sicker.  The patient still has a big
wound to recover from.  This sounds more plausible, to me ... 

It's not *that* different from using Perdo to cleanly destroy a barbed
arrow stuck in someone's entrails.  That sounds like a case in which Perdo
is clearly a good choice, and Creo is not.  It, too, leaves a nasty hole
that must be dealt with in other ways.
